Mezcal Avispón is a 100% organic handmade product that contributes sustainably to the Mexican countryside and the community where it is created, helping to have a better quality of life for the families of Santamaria Zoquitlan in Oaxaca, preserving the traditional method of Mezcal production.
Santa Maria de Zoquitlan, is a town located in the central valleys of the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. Here we sow and cultivate agaves for the preparation of Mezcal Avispón in a 100% organic and artisanal way.
Mezcal can be made with 12 different species of agave; 80% of the mezcal produced comes from Espadín and the rest of wild agaves such as Tobalá, Madrecuixe, Tobasiche, Quixe, Tepeztates, Arroqueño, Sierra Negra, Cupreata among many others.
Types of Mezcal
Each of our products is made with the best agaves from different regions of Oaxaca, its characteristic flavor is obtained by resting in clay barrels, which gives them a unique aging as well as a taste and aroma of great quality.
- Agave Espadín (angustifolia) of young aging distilled in copper and clay barrels.
- Agave Tobalá (potatorum) distilled in copper and clay. 6 months of rest in glass barrels.
- Agave Tepeztates (marmorata) of wild variety, distilled in copper and clay.
